Ngorongoro Crater
Overview
Ngorongoro is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most reliable Big Five destination in Tanzania. The crater floor sits 600 metres below the rim and holds roughly 25,000 large animals within 260 square kilometres, so a single descent can deliver lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo and the rare black rhinoceros in one morning. Almost every one of our northern circuit itineraries includes a full crater game drive with a picnic lunch on the floor.
