Rainforest, endemics and the Sanje Falls
Udzungwa Mountains
Overview
The Udzungwa Mountains rise out of the southern plains in a wall of tropical rainforest, sheltering endemic primates such as the Iringa red colobus and the Sanje mangabey. The signature hike climbs through the forest to the Sanje Waterfalls, a 170-metre cascade with a swimming pool at its base. Udzungwa is included on our longer southern circuit safaris alongside Nyerere and Mikumi.
